Hello everyone and welcome to this Flight review! I present to you here, my departure on vacation (that I was waiting for btw) with Air Caraïbes on an A350-1000! This Flight review is my first and far from being the last. We will see how the trip between Paris-Orly Terminal 4 and Martinique-Aimé Césaire International Airport in Fort-de-France went, for almost 8 hours and a half, in Caribbean class (Premium Economy) in this brand new A350-1000!
Let's get started…
We thus find ourselves, Thursday, October 21st, in Paris Orly, in Terminal 4, under a temperature well (too) low for my taste of 6°C.
Before entering the airport, the security checks the health passes and the tickets of each one, a small wait of 2 minutes was to be expected.
We enter the terminal and take a look at where we have to check our luggage: desk 48 for today.
Three counters are exclusively open for the Premium Economy Class (Classe Caraïbes). We are on flight TX510 to Fort-de-France. Once the luggage is checked, we go to the first floor to pass security and immigration. On the way, we have a magnificent view of the tarmac.
When traveling in Classe Caraïbes (Premium Economy Class) and Madras (Business Class) with Air Caraïbes, we have access to the "Access N°1" line, a priority access.
After having passed the security quietly (with access N°1, we had 7 posts reserved for us avoiding to hurry to put everything away), we go to the border police where, here too, we have access to a priority line.
After all that, we headed to gate F31, to board 1 hour later. Our plane today will be F-HTOO, an A350-1041, the last one received by Air Caraïbes, with only 4 months!
While waiting to board, we went to eat something, with always a magnificent view on the planes!
Let's go for an 8:30 flight! We were lucky enough to be among the very first to board.
We boarded by the first jetway and, to get to our cabin, we went through the Madras cabin (Business Class).
This view is... more than incredible!
The first thing you notice when you sit down is that the seat is super comfortable! We have a big IFE screen, very reactive and usable at any time. Also, we have a comportment on the right-hand side to store our stuff (in addition to the overhead compartments), a remote control for the screen, a USB port, a classic plug, a blanket, and an amenity kit, including all the necessary.
The legroom is more than perfect! This detail, added to the incredible seat, announces a magnificent flight! The plane was perfectly clean.
After Madras Class, Caraïbes class and Soleil class (the Economy Class) boarded, we pushed off facing south and taxied to runway 24.
The ignition of the number 2 engine was perfectly visible from this seat!
We can see planes from Corsair, Air France, Air Algérie, and our colleagues from Air Caraïbes.
The cameras of the A350 are just incredible!
We pass right by the Corsair A330 (F-HSKY) bound for Pointe-à-Pitre.
The camera was very reactive! We lined up on runway 24 and took off under Parisian weather... with a magnificent view of the engine... and Paris (but less important).
Once above the clouds, light is sublime.
A few minutes before the meal, a cabin crew came to offer us an aperitif and to ask us for the chosen meal.
For this first meal, I went with a Marlin Tartar for starters. For the main course, there was Angel food pasta with sautéed vegetables and chicken. The meal ended with a chocolate fondant, all accompanied by a lamb's lettuce salad, cheese, guava juice, sparkling water, and warm crusty bread.
A very good meal with a beautiful view! Bon appétit!
During the whole flight, there was a trolley with plenty of juice and some treats available in the galley.
Wi-Fi was also available on board but for a fee.
The cabin crew came by numerous times to check on us.
A great variety of movies! The map and camera were my best friends on this flight.
Duty-free was also available for about 1 hour, the opportunity to buy a new flame!
About an hour before our arrival in Martinique, we were told that the cabin crew would start the second service.
On the menu: a Lamb's lettuce salad with pieces of beef, a Mars ice cream bar, rice pudding, a hot drink, and cherry juice for me.
The cabin lit up again without disturbing the eyes thanks to the new adaptive LED system! Incredible invention!
First views of Martinique! We go down and make the famous loop approach!
Gear down...
And touch down… butter!
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport, where the outside temperature is 32°C": when you hear that, you know it's going to be fun!
P7 will be our gate, with a view of P6 gate. And we have to pass the new terminal still under construction.
Deboarding in priority, row by row (because of Covid). Last pictures of the plane.
Upon arrival, someone from the airport checks our health passes again.
It is clear: this flight is by far one of the best of my life (if not the best!). The A350 has a long and wonderful career ahead of it. Air Caraïbes is a very good airline, I highly recommend it, the cabin crew is attentive, smiling, and at the top... The seat was very comfortable, and the services on board were very well too. The only small negative point I can find in the trip is the selection of movies, a little bit limited for my taste. Thanks to Air Caraïbes for this flight and thanks to you for reading me :)
