HiSky | Paris (BVA) → Baia Mare (BAY) | A319-100 | Economy Class | 02/08/2022 | Current review |
Hello everyone and welcome to this new Flight review! I present to you here, my last flight of this summer vacation of 2022 to visit my grandparents in Romania! Let's see how the trip between Beauvais-Tillé and Baia Mare airport went, almost 2 hours and a half, in Economy Class in this tiny Airbus A319!
Here we go...
So we end up in Beauvais, from where HiSky operates its flights to Romania and Moldova. It operates from Terminal 1 of the latter. HiSky is obviously not the only airline to operate from Beauvais, it is mainly used by low-cost airlines (Ryanair, WizzAir, HiSky ...)
Having bought a checked bag for this flight, I went through the check-in process. This one was very fast compared to our neighbors who were flying with WizzAir.
After this step, we move to passport control and security which is totally free, it will be fast.
After these steps, we are directly in the boarding hall, which is very practical when we are late. The boarding hall is big enough to welcome passengers of two flights. There are also two or three restaurants and a duty-free area.
Passengers of the HiSky flight to Baia Mare are invited to go to another boarding hall (which is the extension of the first) in order not to be too many in the first boarding hall.
After a few minutes spent in this new boarding hall, we are invited to board our small Airbus A319 of the young low-cost airline. The funny thing about HiSky is that it is a Moldavian airline but it has more connections to/from Romania than to/from Moldavia, so it is becoming more and more known in Romania.
Immediate boarding by walking.
The cabin is quite old, but for a flight of this duration, it is okay.
Once the boarding is finished, the three cabin crew are busy with the safety demonstrations. There are only 3 cabin crew on this A319. After these demonstrations, we push back and take off. A few minutes after takeoff, my eyes closed and I slept the whole flight. When I woke up, we were descending but my neighbor told me that during the flight, the cabin crew distributed a cake and a bottle of water to all the passengers. Surprising from a low-cost airline!
Just after I wake up, we are on our way down, the cabin crew is checking the seatbelts.
A few minutes later we land in Baia Mare, in the north of Romania. This brand-new and small airport opened in 2019. It was a regional airport with a flight between Bucharest and Baia Mare operated by the Romanian national airline, TAROM. But since the arrival of Hisky, it has become an international airport.
Romania is not part of the Schengen Area, so we have to go through the border control at departure and arrival. This is done very quickly.
Just after the control, we arrive in a hall with a luggage delivery belt.
First of all, I'm glad that HiSky operates between Paris and Baia Mare because these are the two cities where I live the most.
The airport of Baia Mare can be reached from my grandparents' house in 5 minutes by car so it's very convenient for them and us, especially since the prices are very attractive. This flight (very fast for me) went very well. Beauvais Airport is getting bigger and bigger and Baia Mare Airport is starting to expand too. It was an enjoyable flight with HiSky. I would definitely take the latter again, hoping to have the chance to fly on the new A321LR of the airline.
