Hello and welcome to this new Flight review,
Today, I take you on a flight from Paris-Orly to Figari, on board Air Corsica. Air Corsica is a regional airline that operates on the island of Corsica in France. The airline was founded in 1989 and has its headquarters in Ajaccio. I already had the opportunity to fly with Air Corsica, and I have to admit that it was a great experience. Let's see what they offer us today!
Welcome to Orly Terminal 2!
I arrive largely in advance at the airport, so I have time to go to see the departure hall of Terminal 3, here it is:
I return to Terminal 2, where I pass through security in a few minutes, before finding myself on the airside.
My flight will leave from gate C. In the boarding area, many people are waiting for their next flight. Moreover, there is not much to do there. There are only a few shops selling sandwiches and drinks. Nevertheless, I manage to find a place in front of a window offering a beautiful view of the taxiways with the sunset in the background. I stay here for a while, watching the aircraft go by.
An A350 from French-Bee, a long-haul low-cost airline, passes us by.
With another hour to wait before boarding, I set out to explore the airport. I end up in corridors that look like a hospital...
Anyway, I manage to get another view of the taxiways. The sun is already down!
“Paris loves you”.
After a long wait, it's time to board.
I take my seat: the 26D. The cabin continues to fill up. Tonight's flight seems to be full.
The legroom is correct. In the seat pocket, there is a sickness bag and the safety card. Unfortunately, no magazine in sight.
Sitting on the aisle side, I won't have anything to see during the takeoff. Anyway, I won't have seen much with the dark night outside. For departure, the crew reduces the light in the cabin.
Once the cruising altitude is reached, the crew comes by to offer soft drinks and biscuits.
The safety card seems somewhat worn.
The crossing of France continues at an altitude of 35,000ft.
We then start descending towards Corsica. Passengers are asked to fasten their seatbelts.
The cabin is ready to land.
And we finally land smoothly, a few minutes ahead of schedule. Passengers are then invited to disembark. As there are no jetways, we will disembark by foot. This gives us the opportunity to take some nice shots of the aircraft.
Obviously, the fuselage shot is made from the rear of the aircraft.
Then we walk to the arrival terminal.
Face to face with the beast…
And an ATR from the same airline lands a few moments after us.
A few seconds later, I will be out of the airport. As Figari airport is relatively small, and as I have no luggage to collect, there will be no waiting before I leave the airport.
In terms of fluidity, waiting times were rather short. As said above, it's a pity that the airport doesn't offer more services (restaurants, shops, etc...) at gate C, because boredom comes quickly. Fortunately, I was able to sit in a seat in front of the window and watch the planes go by.
With on-time arrival, a complimentary snack, and a comfortable cabin, Air Corsica offers a good quality service. The flight went off without a hitch! Over the next few years, Air Corsica plans to continue its aircraft modernization program. This involves the recent arrival of A320neo aircraft in the airline, as well as the renewal of the ATR fleet. This will enable the airline to offer an ever more comfortable, reliable, and punctual service.
Apart from excellent fluidity on arrival allowing me to leave the airport in only a few seconds, there is not much to note. Having arrived late in the evening, the shops were closed and the airport rather empty.
Thank you for reading, and see you soon on Flightreviews.net!
